Tuesday, February 4, 2025 16:00to18:30
Donald E. Armstrong Building 3rd floor Event space, 3420 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 3L1, CA

Join us for a dynamic Black History Month panel discussion that addresses a significant societal issue highlighted by Statistics Canada: only 2% of Canadian businesses are Black-owned, and among these, fewer than 30% are led by women. The event aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practical experiences by bringing together esteemed scholars and practicing entrepreneurs who are making significant strides in Montreal and across Canada.

Date:ÌýTuesday, February 4, 2025
Time:Ìý4:00 PM to 6:30 PM EST
Location:ÌýDesautels Faculty of Management, Armstrong Building (3rd floor)
3420 McTavish St, Montreal, Quebec, H3A 0E2

ÌýAgenda & Panelists

The discussion will explore various dimensions of Black entrepreneurship, providing insights from both academic and practical viewpoints. Panelists will delve into the barriers and drivers affecting these entrepreneurs, assess funding availability, explore the impact of mindset, and examine the roles of networking and supportive institutions like incubators and Chambers of Commerce.

The aim is to uncover critical insights and propose potential solutions to the challenges faced by Black women entrepreneurs. As the saying goes, "a rising tide lifts all boats." Supporting Black women entrepreneurs not only elevates these individuals but also enhances the broader community, fostering inclusivity and economic prosperity for all.

Light refreshments will be served. Please feel free to share this event widely among your networks. All are welcome!
