Biography
Sue Laver has been an instructor at 海外直播b站 for 20 years. After teaching a variety of courses in literature and cultural studies in the Department of English, Sue was appointed in 2005 as a Faculty Lecturer in the former English & French Language Centre, where she specialized in teaching English for Academic Purposes at the undergraduate level and oversaw the introduction of asynchronous digital audio feedback. Her responsibilities also included designing the writing tutorial component of the innovative and cross-disciplinary Arts Legacy Freshman Program and training Teaching Assistants to provide high quality feedback on student听 assignments.听 In 2006, Sue was invited to assume the directorship of Arts Legacy, a position she held until 2011.

In 2010, Sue was appointed Director of 海外直播b站鈥檚 new Writing Centre, which opened its doors in September 2011. Sue continues to teach English for Academic Purposes, but is also responsible for developing a range of other credit and non-credit offerings including workshops, seminars, and programs. In addition, she is actively pursuing partnership possibilities both with other 海外直播b站 faculties and with business, industry, government, and community organizations. Sue is committed to developing a culture of writing听 excellence at 海外直播b站 and to promoting a university-wide appreciation of the vital role that writing plays in the development of the advanced critical reading and critical thinking skills necessary for both academic and professional success.

Sue is a member of the Inquiry Network, a TLS initiative (), and also sits on the Aboriginal Pathways Program Committee (). She is the Co-editor, with Mette Hjort, of Emotion and the Arts (Oxford: OUP, 1997).听 Her other areas of expertise include Anglo-American Modernism, and鈥攁bove all else鈥攁ll things Frankenstein.
