Current research:
My research is in the field of digital health, with a focus on how to optimize health behaviours in order to improve outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease and diabetes.聽
Areas of interest:
- Validation of electronic health record data to optimize screening for clinical trials and enhance patient specific data collection
- Identify biomarkers to predict cause specific mortality in patients with diabetes and heart failure
- Use digital applications such as MyHeart Counts to identify predictors of cardiovascular disease
Biography:
My research group focuses on two major themes: 1) Cardiovascular outcomes and therapy optimization in patients with diabetes and heart failure; 2) Use of digital health to streamline follow-up and therapy selection in patients with heart failure. We aim to develop new tools to leverage novel biomarkers, digital data, and electronic health records to conduct clinical studies, optimize patient data collection, and enhance knowledge translation.聽
