Allan A. Hodgson Arts Internship Award

The Allan A. Hodgson Arts Internship Award was established by Allan A. Hodgson (BA鈥58) to help students enrolled in the Summer Internship Program in the Faculty of Arts gain firsthand understanding of the global community, and of issues pertaining to international development. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is designed to lend financial support to students, who wish to pursue an internship in the field of international development. The award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Students must have a demonstrated interest in the area of international development and propose an internship with a host organization actively engaged in this field. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to, microfinance projects, education, environmental sustainability, medical services, community development and legal aid.

Andrew Buntain Arts Internship Awards

The Andrew Buntain Arts Internship Awards were established in 2011 by Andrew Buntain (BA'95) to help support one or more undergraduate students participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Preference is given to Canadian students.

The Archie Malloch Undergraduate Internships in Public Learning

The Archie Malloch Undergraduate Internships听in Public Learning were established by Janet Blachford (BA'61, MA'63) in honour of English Professor Archie Malloch to help one or more undergraduate students in any Faculty through an internship related to gaining experience related to in the cultural or entertainment sectors.

Applicants should have a keen interest in inter-disciplinarity and the function and relevance of humanities scholarship beyond the academy. The internships will include an element of practical training and experience, but will focus on opportunities for intellectual development.

Armando &听Ann Manfredi Arts Internship Award

The Armando & Ann Manfredi Arts Internship Award was established in 2017听through the generosity of colleagues, alumni, and friends听in honour of Professor Christopher Manfredi, former Dean of the Faculty of Arts and current Provost and Vice Principal Academic of 海外直播b站, in memory of his parents Ann and Armando Manfredi.

Internship experiences enrich students鈥 lives and, in some cases, change the course of their academic pursuits and future careers. By studying and working with NGOs and organizations around the world, they gain exposure to different languages and new ways of thinking, helping them become better global citizens. Through these encounters, they broaden their understanding of the world and hone their interdisciplinary skills - core proficiencies for successful careers.

Arts Student Employment Fund Award

The Arts Student Employment Fund Award was established by the Arts Undergraduate Society and the Arts Student Employment Fund (ASEF) to help students gain practical experience through an internship in their relevant field of study. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this Award is designed to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Please note that students who have opted out of the ASEF fee are not eligible to apply.

The Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund Internship Award was established by the Arts Undergraduate Society and the Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund (AUIF) to help students gain practical experience through an internship in their relevant field of study. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this Award is designed to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Please note that students who have opted out of AUIF fee are not eligible to apply.

Barbara &听Patrick Keenan Undergraduate Internship Award for Interfaith Studies

The Barbara &听Patrick Keenan Undergraduate Internship Award听for Interfaith Studies was established听in 2012 by Barbara Keenan听(BA'54) and Patrick Keenan (BCom'54, CA'57).听Awarded by the School of Religious Studies to students participating in an activity in an international setting to further their studies, allowing first-hand experience of religious cultures in a global context. The Fund provides financial assistance to students with travel and other expenses related to international activity. Students can apply for affiliation at an institution that furthers their study of religion and international encounters.

Open to students in any Faculty who have completed at least two courses in religious studies. Students must be returning to 海外直播b站 the semester following the international activity. It is understood that Undergraduate students may continue to apply for funding for an internship with an institution that furthers their study of religion and international encounters.听Graduate students in the School of Religious Studies may apply for funding for international travel related to research on interfaith topics and students registered for the 海外直播b站 Summer Studies in Italy Program may apply if the course being offered is a Religious Studies Course.

Brenda &听Morrison Hurley Arts Internship Award

Carol &听Lloyd Darlington Arts Internship Award

The Carol & Lloyd Darlington Arts Internship Award was established by Lloyd Darlington (BA'67) to help undergraduate students enrolled in the Summer Internship Program in the Faculty of Arts through an internship with the purpose of improving the economic or social welfare of a developing country. Preference will be given to students in an internship associated with the use of more innovative or creative approaches to the improvement of economic or social welfare. Administered through the Dean's Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Chris Tyler Marckmann International Social Work Awards

The Chris Tyler Marckmann International Social Work Summer Internship Awards were established in 2014 by Bill Mooney (BA'91) and Brandee Marckmann to help one or more undergraduate students in the School of Social Work gain firsthand international experience related to their fields of study by providing partial funding to assist with travel and other expenses related to their internship. The award is administered through the Dean's Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office.

The David Tarr & Gisele Chevrefils Arts Internship Award was established by David Tarr (BA鈥61) to help students gain firsthand experience related to their fields of study. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this Award is designed to lend financial support to students pursuing internships, particularly with community-based initiatives in the fields of education, sustainable development, community development and government accountability. The Award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Students must have a demonstrated interest in community-based initiatives in the fields of education, sustainable development, community development or government accountability, and propose an internship with a host organization actively engaged in this field. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated sense of initiative whose past and future activities embody community-based initiatives.

The Dean Of Arts Development Fund

The Dean Of Arts Development Fund supports a wide range of events, publications and research opportunities for members of the Faculty of Arts, enhancing Faculty research and the student learning experience. The DADF funds projects in the majority of the Faculty鈥檚 departments and provided support for Internship Awards, research assistantships, international conferences and high-profile keynote lectures 鈥 in addition to much needed assistance to our Arts Student Advising Program.

Faculty of Arts Action Plan to Address Anti-Black Racism Fund

The Faculty of Arts Action Plan to Address Anti-Black Racism Fund, is adjacent to 海外直播b站鈥檚 APAABR and is designed to open opportunities for and support Arts students who wish to pursue an internship at a local, national or international organization that contributes to the flourishing of the Black community. Administered through the Faculty of Arts Internship Office and in consultation with the Equity team (Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic)), this award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with expenses related to their internship.

The fund is open to Faculty of Arts students (B.A., B.A & Sc., BSW, B.Th., M.A, MSW, MIS) who will be returning to 海外直播b站 the semester following their internships.

The Fay Gilbert Ruby Arts Internship Award

The Fay Gilbert Ruby Arts Internship Award will be used to support internship opportunities and managed by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office . A preference will be given to students studying in the field of Art History who wish to pursue an internship related to their studies.

Gael Eakin Canada Internship Award

The Gael Eakin Canada Internship Awards were established in 2024 by Gael Eakin, BA 1961. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office to students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts and who are participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the Canadian Studies program or students who want to participate in an internship for an organization advancing the cause of a more just Canada.

Gail Elizabeth Todgham Internship Awards

The Gail Elizabeth Todgham Arts Internship Awards were established in 2010 by Gail Todgham (BA鈥67) to help undergraduate students enrolled in the Arts Internship Program in the Faculty of Arts through an internship conducted in a museum, gallery, or an area related to the visual arts.

The Goodman Family Internships

Established in 2019 by the Morris and Rosalind Goodman Family Foundation, to help students gain firsthand experience related to their field of studies. For three undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, with preference to students who have an interest in social engagement or social entrepreneurship in Montr茅al, Quebec and/or in other parts of Canada.

Award recipients with the donors of their Arts Internship Award.

The Gregg Blachford and David 海外直播b站ivray Internship Award, established in 2014 by Gregg Blachford (former director of the 海外直播b站 Career Planning Service - CaPS) and husband, David 海外直播b站ivray (former Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician/Associate Professor at the Montreal Children's Hospital), is designed to lend financial support to Arts students who wish to pursue an internship in a local, national or international organization that promotes social justice/human rights in the areas of gender and sexuality. Administered through the Dean's Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office and in consultation with the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies, this award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Preference will be given to:

  • Students of minority gender identities or sexual orientations
  • Students who have demonstrated interest in the areas of social justice/human rights
  • Students who are in a program that is coordinated by the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies

Hinda Ordower King Awards of Merit

罢丑别听Hinda Ordower King Awards of Merit听were established by Richard, Joel, and Norman King and their families to honour the memory of their loving stepmother, Hinda (BA'47, BSW'48, MSW'53, PhD'84) and help deserving Quebec, Israeli, and Canadian students participating in a 海外直播b站 School of Social Work international field placement.

Hinda Ordower King was a graduate of 海外直播b站's School of Social Work and she received her PhD from Columbia University. She was a proud observant Jewish woman who had a great love for Israel with the result that she happily lived there for many years before returning to Montreal where she remained until she passed away.

Hon. Paul and Yvonne Casey Internship Award

The Hon. Paul & Yvonne Casey Arts Internship Award was established in 2010 by George Garvin Brown (BA鈥91) in honor of his grandfather, the Hon. Paul Charles Casey, a graduate of 海外直播b站 (Law'28), and grandmother, Mrs. Yvonne Casey. Judge Casey served as Quebec Appeals Judge from 1946 to 1979. This award was established to help support a student in the Faculty Internship Program through an internship related to democracy, institution building, the judiciary, or government. Preference will be given to a student pursuing a major in Political Science or History. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this Award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Students must have a demonstrated interest in the area of democracy, institution building, the judiciary, or government and propose an internship with a host organization actively engaged in this field.

Ithaca Arts Internship Award

The Ithaca Arts Internship Award was established in 2008 by France Bellisle, to help support one student participating in an internship outside of North America.

The Jennifer Ritter Internship Award was established in 2015 by Dr. Alan Ritter and Jennifer Ellen Nozick (BA'95)听to support one or more undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an Arts Internship or an Arts Research Internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office upon recommendation of the Awards Administrator. Preference will be given to students in Psychology.

John Wasileski Externship Awards

Established in 2014 by John Wasileski (BA'75)听to support one or more undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts, the听John Wasileski Arts Externship Awards听provide current students the opportunity to gain exposure to and better understand the professional world while contributing to their host organization. The program helps students develop new skills, gain valuable experience, network in the business environment, and learn more about professional and entrepreneurial opportunities. The student鈥檚 role is to contribute to the host organization by undertaking a wide variety of tasks, sharing ideas, and working with employees in various functions. The awards are administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office by providing partial funding to assist with travel and other expenses related to their externship.

The Lev Bukhman Internship Award was established by Lev Bukhman (BA鈥93) to help students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts Internship Program gain practical and hands-on experience in the field of microfinance, governance, or self-sustainability. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Students must have a demonstrated interest in the area of microfinance, governance or self-sustainability and propose an internship with a host organization actively engaged in this field.

Liz Gomery and Stefan Fews Award in Arts

The Liz Gomery & Stefan Fews Internship Award in Arts was established by Elizabeth Gomery (BA鈥98, BCL/LLB'03) and Stefan Fews (BA'96, BCL/LLB'00) to help students gain firsthand experience related to their fields of study. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is designed to lend financial support to students pursuing internships. Preference will be given to any undergraduate student undertaking an internship in an area related to poverty reduction (e.g. educating women, environmental issues, and so forth). The award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Established in 2023 by Richard B. Raymer, BA 1991, in loving memory of his mother, Linda Raymer. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office to one or more students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program.

Max Stern Internship in Art History Award

The Max Stern Internship听in Art History Award was established by Dr. Max Stern鈥檚 estate to help Art History undergraduate and graduate students gain first hand experience through an internship. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is designed to lend financial support to students who wish to pursue an internship in the field of Art and Art History. The award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship and to assist students in their pursuit of study in the area closest to Mr. Stern鈥檚 heart - Art and Art History.

Max Stern, O.C. (1903-1987) was an art historian and collector. In 1947, he bought the Dominion Gallery on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal and made it a focal point for the dissemination of 鈥渓iving art鈥 and the promotion of Canada鈥檚 modern artists. The Dominion Gallery became one of the most vital and influential art galleries in the country, and remained open for over a decade after his death.

McDonald听Currie Fund for International Management and Development Internship Award

罢丑别听McDonald Currie Fund for International Management and Development Internship Award was established听in 2012 by George Currie (BEng'51)听to provide financial assistance to students in the Desautels Faculty of Management who are undertaking an international internship as the experiential learning component of their Major in International Management studies and students in the Faculty of Arts undertaking an unpaid internship. The Award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Richard and Lynne Kaiser Family Foundation Arts Internship Award

Established in 2023 by the Richard and Lynne Kaiser Family Foundation. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office to one or more students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Preference will be given to students participating in an internship in fine arts or art history.

Richard B. Levy Family Arts Internship听Travel Award

The Richard B. Levy Family Arts Internship Travel Award听was established听in 2016 by Richard B. Levy (BA'89)听to support one or more undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an Arts Internship or an Arts Research Internship with an international humanitarian non-profit organization听conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office. Preference will be given to students working with the United Nations Children鈥檚 Fund (UNICEF) in New York City.

Roland Arts Summer Internship Award

The Roland Arts Summer Internship Award was established by the family of David Roland (BA鈥91) to help students gain practical experience through an internship related to international development and/or the advancement of social causes. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this Award was designed to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Students must have a demonstrated interest in international development and/or the advancement of social causes, and propose an internship with a host organization actively engaged in this field. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated sense of initiative whose past and future activities embody international development and the advancement of social causes.

Susan Casey Brown Fund

The Susan Casey Brown Fund for 海外直播b站 was established by Garvin Brown (BA'91)听in honour of his mother, Susan Casey Brown.Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their international internship.

The St. Andrews/McEuen Scholarship Foundation Internship Award in Canadian-Scottish Studies

The internship awards are funded through The St. Andrews/McEuen Scholarship Foundation Chair in Canadian-Scottish Studies. The awards support undergraduate and graduate students interning in the area of Canadian-Scottish history.

These opportunities include internships for students offered through the Arts Internship Office. Every year, several "Canadian-Scottish internships" are hosted by Scottish cultural organizations. To date, internships have been hosted by the Black Watch Museum and Archives, the St. Andrew's Society of Montreal, the 78th Fraser Highlanders, Jardins de M茅tis / Reford Gardens. These funded internships offer the opportunity to gain work experience in historical research and public history.

Tania Zouikin Arts Internship Award in International Development

The Tania Zouikin Arts Internship Award in International Development was established by Tania Zouikin (BA鈥72) to help students gain firsthand understanding of the global community, and of issues pertaining to international development. Administered through the Dean鈥檚 Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is designed to lend financial support to students who wish to pursue an internship with an organization in the field of international development. The award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel and other expenses related to their internship.

Students must have a demonstrated interest in the area of international development and propose an internship with a host organization actively engaged in this field. Relevant fields include, but are not limited to, women鈥檚 projects, education, environmental sustainability, medical services, community development, and legal aid. Preference will be given to female students.

Toten Family Arts Internship Award

The Toten Family Arts Internship Award was established in 2012 by Kenneth Toten (BA'72)听to help support one or more undergraduate students participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Administered through the Dean's Office in conjunction with the Faculty of Arts Internship Office, this award is meant to provide partial funding to assist students with travel other expenses related to their internship.

The Toronto Women, Leadership & Philanthropy (WLP) Internship Award

The Women, Leadership & Philanthropy (WLP) Group of Toronto is established as an interest group of the 海外直播b站 Alumni Association. Its mission is to enable alumnae of 海外直播b站 to maintain contact with the University, and each other, for their shared benefit and for the continuing vital support of 海外直播b站. It will also seek to build a vibrant 海外直播b站 community amongst its alumnae in positions of leadership and governance within the Toronto Region. As part of their mission, the WLP established a Fund to support summer student internships 鈥 administered by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office. Preference will be given to woman from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) whose internship will help develop women鈥檚 leadership initiatives.

Undergraduate Experiential Learning Opportunities Support Fund

The Undergraduate Experiential Learning Opportunities Support Fund, from an anonymous donor, will be used to support experiential learning opportunities managed by the Arts Internship Office in the Faculty of Arts. The fund will be used to support undergraduate students participating in the Arts Internships and the Arts Research Internship Awards (ARIA) programs in the Faculty of Arts.

Vanasse Wilbert International Experience Internship Award

Established by Martine Vanasse, BA 1993, and Randall Edwin Wilbert II, to help students gain firsthand experience related to their fields of study. For one or more undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an international internship in the area of community development in a developing country conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Office. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office to defray travel, accommodation and living expenses related to the internship.

Wendy Patton Keys Arts Internship Award

The Wendy Patton Keys Arts Internship Award was established in 2017 by Wendy Patton Keys, BA 1964, to help students gain firsthand experience related to their fields of study. For two or more students in the Faculty of Arts participating in an internship conducted through the Faculty of Arts Internship Program. Awarded by the Faculty of Arts Internship Office to defray travel and accommodation expenses related to the internship. Preference will be given to students participating in internships related to international development, human rights, relief and/or community-based initiatives.听

William Henry Kelly Social Work Summer Internship Awards

罢丑别听William Henry Kelly听Social Work Summer Internship Awards were established in 2011 by Bill Mooney (BA鈥91) to help one or more School of Social Work undergraduate students enrolled in any of the internships in the Arts Internship Program in the Faculty of Arts to strengthen their skills and assist social service agencies supporting the needs of children and youth at risk. Preference will be given to students intending to undertake such work in the Province of Prince Edward Island.
