The Osler Library has an active group of Friends chaired by Dr. Richard Cruess, whose financial, and moral, support is very helpful in allowing the Library to continue to buy material, preserve its rich collections and make it available to the world.
Membership in the Friends of the Osler Library is open to anyone who is interested in the Osler Library, the life and legacy of Sir William Osler or the history of medicine.
Funds raised by the Friends help the Osler Library purchase books and journals, conserve and restore our unique collection and make it as widely available as possible. Membership includes a subscription to the Osler Library Newsletter and discounts on the purchase of the Library’s occasional publications.
There are five levels of Membership:
- Benefactor ($1,000 and more)
- Partner ($500 - $999)
- Patron ($100 - $499)
- Supporting Friend ($50 - $99)
- Contributing Friend ($25 - $49)
Donors can also make gifts specifically to the Library's History of Medicine Endowment Fund, which will provide ongoing support for new acquisitions, travel grants and priority projects, including the digitization of material from the Library's collection of rare and unique items.
Donations made out to "Friends of the Osler Library - º£ÍâÖ±²¥bÕ¾" can be sent to the Library and income tax receipts will be issued.
