Students in the Brass Area at º£ÍâÖ±²¥bվ’s Schulich School of Music work with top-level orchestral musicians, international soloists, chamber musicians and recording artists. Our students perform at a high level in well-rounded programs. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and our school is located in the heart of downtown Montreal where there are hundreds of concerts spanning different genres each year.

Graduates from our programs have gone on to perform with major orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony, Houston Symphony, and Montreal Symphony Orchestra. They have joined premier chamber ensembles such as the Canadian Brass, and embarked on successful teaching and solo careers.
A highlight of our performance programs, our students have a large number of professional-level performance opportunities with acclaimed ensembles such as the º£ÍâÖ±²¥bÕ¾ Symphony Orchestra, Wind Orchestra, Contemporary Music Ensemble and Jazz Ensembles. Students perform in a wide variety of chamber ensembles each semester and can participate in a weekly orchestral brass class.
Brass Area students have consistently won numerous international and national solo and chamber music competitions. Students gain practical knowledge listening to our actively performing faculty in rehearsal and in concert as well as in masterclasses offered by internationally renowned artists each semester.
