Mehdi Babaei joined the 海外直播b站 Writing Centre in 2019 with a diverse teaching portfolio, including teacher training for 海外直播b站鈥檚 Faculty of Education, English for Professional Purposes at 海外直播b站's Language and Intercultural Communication (LIC) and academic writing at the 海外直播b站 Writing Centre (MWC). Since 2015, Mehdi has taught undergraduate and graduate academic writing courses and various language courses in blended, online, and in-person modes at the 海外直播b站 School of Continuing Studies. With a PhD in Educational Studies, Second Language Education, Mehdi has also contributed to research on prior learning and assessment recognition, language and identity issues amongst plurilingual immigrants, and reflective teaching practices. Mehdi has been an active member of a Montreal research group called BILD (Belonging, Identity, Language and Diversity), to which he has been a regular contributor through publishing blog posts. His responsibilities include overseeing WCOM ESL placement tests, teaching and coordinating WCOM ESL courses, and supporting the Graphos program.
