The term survivor is used on our website to describe anyone who has experienced any unwanted act of a sexual nature. We understand that this term may not reflect everyone's experience and not everyone who has experienced an unwanted act of a sexual nature will identify with this term.

We are here to help you, whether the incident occurred recently or not, and we will honour your individual healing process. Here is how we can help you:

Support services

We offer free crisis intervention and short-term crisis counselling to help you navigate your healing process. Appointments can be in-person or virtual and can be booked on our website, by emailing us at osvrse [at] mcgill.ca, or by calling us at 514-398-3954.

We also offer support activities for survivors

Resource coordination

Each survivor has different needs. We will work with you to determine what is right for you. We can assist you with:

  • Accessing support services on and off campus, including medical, psychological or emotional
  • Coordinating safety measures and personal safety planning
  • Obtaining accommodations (academic, housing, employment-related)

Reporting assistance

The decision to report an incident or not is entirely yours. We can help you understand the reporting processes鈥攚hether you are considering reporting through campus channels or through police services鈥攕o that you can decide what is right for you.

If you choose to report, we can accompany you through the process.
