About Science or Mathematics for Teachers
The training and certification of school teachers has traditionally been the responsibility of the Faculty of Education and requires the completion of a Bachelor of Education, subject to regulations set by the Government of Quebec. The Minor allows Science students to develop or explore an interest in Education without committing themselves to completing a B.Ed. degree. Science students who have taken this Minor will have completed some of the necessary credits for the B.Ed. degree should they wish to enrol in that program. For details, see Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) - Minor Education for Science Students (18 credits).
The traditional Bachelor of Education, Secondary Program, Science and Technology, or Secondary Program, Mathematics is available within the Faculty of Education; see Faculty of Education > Undergraduate > Browse Academic Units & Programs > Department of Integrated Studies in Education > Overview of Programs (Integrated Studies in Education).
